How to Decorate Your Dining Table When It’s Not in Use
Whether you use your table every night or only for special occasions, dining table décor can add style and personality to your space. In today’s blog, the interior design experts at Star Furniture offer some great ideas for how to decorate your dining table when it’s not in use.
Find the Right Centerpiece
One of the simplest dining table décor ideas is adding a centerpiece to your table. Centerpieces come in all different shapes, sizes, and styles, so you’ll want to consider the interior design style of your dining room, as well as your own unique personality. Some of our favorite dining room centerpiece ideas include flowers, candles, seashells, fruit baskets, and decorative statues.
Throw on a Table Runner
When you have a beautiful dining room table, the last thing you want to do is hide it with a tablecloth. Decorating with a table runner allows you to add that extra layer of texture and style without completely covering up the natural beauty of your table. Because table runners go down the center of your table, they work particularly well with centerpieces.
Go Seasonal
Because dining table décor is simple and easy to switch out, we recommend choosing a new look for every season. When choosing a table runner, for example, you might choose a plaid pattern or autumn and winter colors during the colder months and a floral pattern or warmer colors for spring and summer. Your centerpieces themselves can also be geared toward the different seasons. While you may go with a candle and pine cones for the winter months, you can use a basket of citrus fruits or local flowers for your spring and summer centerpiece.
Try a Tray
Looking for an easy way to group your dining table décor? Try a tray! While a tray can easily hold your centerpiece, it also gives you a chance to group items together for a more stylish look. For best results, we recommend choosing a theme for your tray. It can be something seasonal, like summer flowers and fruits, something more contextual, like travel trinkets from your favorite locale, or something more functional, like honey, hot sauce, or other condiments.
